I was referred to Ms. Silberman through my cardiologist to assist me with reducing cholesterol with as little medication as my genetics would allow. What I got was a life-changing revamp of my approach to eating — focusing on healthier foods, a balanced diet, food sourcing and “quality control” (rather than “quantity control”). We planned the basics of my diet together; we had discussions about options and the impact of a variety of choices; we worked through my personal preferences — good and bad. The result was a 30 lb. weight loss over 6 months, and a completely new daily, weekly and monthly dietary routine. I never counted a single calorie and I never drank a single protein shake and I did not take a laundry list of supplements. Each recommendation Ms. Silberman made was tied to my personal goal — to understand better what I’m putting into my body and to start making decisions that would make me healthier, not hungrier. I put my trust in her and I followed her recommendations, and it paid off. Paying intelligent attention to my diet was accompanied by a reduction in my total cholesterol of 100 points in 180 days. Overall, it was a terrific professional and personal experience.
